Happy to open our second branch in Quezon City!

As a professional cleaning service, we have happily cleaned thousands of residential and commercial establishments since we first opened our doors in 2015. Initially, we focused on serving clients based in Makati and Taguig due to these locations’ proximity to our head office, but as the business grew, we began exploring possible expansion opportunities to cater to the homeowner and commercial markets based in northern Metro Manila. We are excited to share that last June 7, 2022, we opened our second branch along Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

A business idea focused on helping others

Happy Helpers first started in January 2015 when our founders, Maan Sicam and Jo Endaya, returned to the Philippines after spending several years abroad. Upon their return, they realized that there was a lack of house cleaning services that homeowners could avail of on a part-time, as-needed basis. While building a team of reliable, trustworthy cleaners, they connected with GKonomics, an organization that focuses on providing livelihood opportunities for women in the Gawad Kalinga communities. In a 2018 interview with Business World Online, Maan recalls some of her first conversations with the women from these communities. She shared: “We were working with mothers like me. We were working with women who at my age are telling me, ‘Ma’am, I’m too old. My dreams are for my children”. Frustrated and saddened by the notion that a mother’s life and identity is defined by her husband and children, Maan and Jo made it a point to also empower these women to dream for themselves through holistic wellness sessions and life coaching.

Through these experiences, Happy Helpers was born - a social enterprise cleaning company  that would provide professional cleaning services and simultaneously uplift Filipinos through meaningful work and livelihood opportunities.

Seven years of serving thousands of households

With a small team of five cleaners based in Barangay Pinagsama, Taguig, Happy Helpers started servicing households in the Makati and Taguig areas. Our founders, Maan and Jo, operated the enterprise out of Jo’s home garage where they spent time sourcing the right materials, developing the Happy Helpers cleaning method, and once the cleaning jobs came in, personally drove the cleaners to the different locations. As the company grew, they invested in vans to shuttle the cleaners from their homes to their jobs and stationed their headquarters near the Gawad Kalinga community.

Over the years, Happy Helpers has expanded its variety of cleaning services in Metro Manila. After initially focusing on offering reliable home cleaning services, we began servicing commercial establishments with their office cleaning service, warehouse cleaning, and post construction cleaning. When the COVID-19 pandemic started in 2020, we decided to start offering disinfection services in Metro Manila, Philippines to complement our flagship deep cleaning service. Most importantly, we continue to uphold our mission to provide livelihood opportunities for fellow Filipinos as we now have a growing team of 46 Happy Helpers based in our Taguig office.

Opening our second branch in Quezon City

Happy Helpers was one of the four social enterprise beneficiaries of the Ateneo Alumni Association's project, Ateneo Tulong Sulong, a livelihood and development program that transforms marginalized communities by connecting them with social enterprises who will provide training and employment opportunities. For our second branch, we will be collaborating with the Daan Tubo Association, an Ateneo community located along Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City. Last June 7, we formally opened our new office and welcomed our ten newest Happy Helpers who will pioneer the Quezon City-based operations.

On behalf of the entire company, we would like to thank the Ateneo Alumni Association, the Ateneo Law School Batch 1997, and the officers of the Daan Tubo Association for making this expansion possible. Seven years ago this was just a dream - to run a business that will help fellow Filipinos - and we are immensely grateful that through your unwavering support, it has become a reality.

Our new office is now taking bookings for residential and commercial establishments based in Quezon City. Send us a message and our customer service team will happily accommodate you!
