Eleven Years, One Dream.
Fresh from her return overseas, our co-founder Maan Sicam sought out a reliable, part-time cleaning service in Metro Manila similar to the ones she would hire when she was based abroad. Unfortunately, she could not find any, since stay-in household helpers were still the norm especially back in 2015. As a result, she realized that there must be several other mothers just like her who needed regular assistance with their home cleaning needs on a part-time basis.
In January 2015, Happy Helpers started with the goal of lessening the load for busy moms through trusted professional cleaning services. When co-founders, Maan Sicam and Jo Endaya, were interviewing Filipina mothers who would compose their pioneering team, they heard a common sentiment: “I’m too old. My dreams are for my children.” Saddened by this, Maan and Jo decided to go beyond offering home cleaning services. The Happy Helpers social mission was born: a mission to continuously uplift and transform the lives of Filipina mothers from vulnerable communities and teach these mothers to dream not just for their families and children, but also themselves.
Eleven years ago, Happy Helpers began offering its flagship house cleaning service, the Deep Cleaning Service, to homes, condominium units, and offices in the Makati and Taguig areas. With the success of the Deep Cleaning Service, we expanded our professional cleaning service offerings to include the Post Construction Cleaning Service, Move In & Move Out Cleaning Service, and Hyla® Upholstery Cleaning Service. A few years ago, we started offering Professional Organizing and Decluttering Cleaning Service where we declutter the space and create a personalized organizing system that is easy to follow and maintain even after the cleaning service has been completed.
While our professional cleaning services expanded, so did our team of Happy Helpers. From a small team of five mothers, we now have 90+ Happy Helpers spread across our three branches: Taguig, Quezon City, and Muntinlupa. Our second branch, the Quezon City branch, opened along Katipunan Avenue in June 2022, allowing us to service areas in Northern Metro Manila, especially the various subdivisions and condominiums in Quezon City. In December 2023, we opened our third branch in Muntinlupa which expanded our cleaning service area coverage beyond Metro Manila to the provinces of Cavite and Laguna.
So how do we uplift the lives of the 90+ mothers who compose our team of Happy Helpers?
We go beyond providing employment opportunities for these Filipina mothers. These mothers work on a part-time basis to ensure that they are able to earn additional income without having to sacrifice time spent away from their families. We also hold team building, skills training, and life coaching workshops.
